The Gallerian shopping mall was built in the 1970’s and has since been rebuilt a couple of times, the latest change was among other things a new entrance at the end of Hamngatan.  The stairway and escalator leads to the in some ways disreputable Malmskillnadsgatan. Some more images from the same place taken in 2001. This environment has now disappeared. The area around Sergelstorg has since its construction in 1960’s been disputed. It has among other things, been accused for being an unsafe place with inhabited by drug addicts, homeless people and gangs of teens from the ”million programme”-suburbs. The 1968 documentary ”Dom kallar oss mods” by Stefan Jarl is well worth to view in this context.
